Monday 13th May – Small walk and relax **** sunny and warm:)
Our original plan was to move on after breakfast to visit the National
Trust site at Sutton Hoo to use our National Trust membership, a joint
Mothers/Father’s Day present from our son but Mag went to bed feeling
under the weather and woke worse, a reaction to some strong prescription
anti-inflammatories :( So after breakfast we had a nice chat with another
couple from Washbrook who also stayed the night in their VW camper and I
did my exercises in a quiet spot at the end of the small beach. Mag then
joined me to make the most of the lovely river view and warm sunshine. The
peace and quiet was broken for a short time while the Trojon boat moved one
of the moorings but quiet was soon restored and the next we knew it was
2.30 as we had both dozed off! We decided to stay here another night and
hope Mag was feeling better tomorrow as she even had trouble walking the
short distance to the quay late in the afternoon! I carried on the walk
ending up the only person on Bawdsey beach. I slowly walked back collecting
coal but only managed a kilo of tiny pieces, it seems the coal harvest has
dried up and we have had to buy it for over a year now:( Mag slept on and
off all day but we were able to enjoy being treated to another amazing
sunset. It never fails to deliver here :)
